Out of the Office

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to let you know that Ken and I are headed to the hospital in a few hours to have our baby, so I will be out of the office most of this week. If I am slow to return emails or get things in the mail to you during the next week or so, please know that I am not ignoring you. We are really excited to welcome our first child, even though he is 3 weeks earlier than expected! Thank you so much for your understanding and make sure to stay tuned into Facebook and my blog for baby updates!

Erin + Mike

Erin and Mike were such a blast to photograph. Since I was 8 1/2 months pregnant when I photographed them, they agreed to travel from Bloomington to a couple fields near my house for their engagement photos. I'm so glad that they were up for anything! Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

I loved the light that evening -- it was perfect!

I thought Mike's sketches were so cool.

Love this one!

Erin warned me that she and Mike were not photogenic. Sure, whatever you say, crazy girl. You guys rocked these photos!

This is my favorite light of the day and it sticks around for a whopping 5 minutes or so.

Gorgeous!

Mike wanted some photos with his favorite blanket and I was happy to oblige. How cute are they?!?!

Erin and Mike, I can't wait for your wedding next year. We are going to have so much fun!!!

Kristin + Justin

I had been looking forward to Kristin and Justin's wedding ever since they first contacted me about photographing their big day. You all know that I have a thing for vintage pieces and non-traditional elements and Kristin and Justin's wedding was right up my alley. If some of the people in the wedding look familiar, it's because Kristin is the sister of one of my June grooms. We LOVE referrals!!!

Kristin and the girls got ready at her mom's house in West Lafayette. I just adore getting ready photos -- they really help tie everything together and tell the story of the day.

These are some of my favorite ring shots ever.

Garrett's Flowers did an amazing job with the flowers. I pretty much became obsessed with lotus pods because of Kristin's bouquet.

FAVORITE. The scoop: Kristin begged Justin's mom to let her haul the family's vintage sofa to their ceremony location for a few photos. I'm so glad Justin's mom agreed!

One of my favorite bridal party photos I have ever taken. I know I keep saying that about this wedding, but it's true.

Kristin, you are absolutely stunning.

Alright, so this blog post is a little heavy on the bridal photos, but that's because Kristin gave me a decent amount of time to shoot before the ceremony, she brought the most amazing props with her, the light was really soft that day (until it started pouring!), and I had way too many favorites to try to narrow these down further.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to hang this as a canvas in my studio gallery.

Meet Justin and the guys. Not too shabby, eh?

I'm digging the grey suits and variety of ties.

Justin's reaction to seeing Kristin for the first time that day, captured by Ken. Love, love, love.

Their ceremony and reception were held at the Lahr in downtown Lafayette. Isn't is gorgeous?!?! Bonus -- the light was fabulous for an indoor venue!

This photos makes me smile.

So does this one.

Justin's socks = perfection. (And I wanted to steal Kristin's shoes.)

Check out their sweet cake toppers!

Kristin and Justin, everything about your wedding was just perfect. Ken and I had an amazing time photographing your day and we have really enjoyed getting to know you. We wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
