Well, 2010, here we are! I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday like I wanted, but better late than never, right? 2009 was an incredible year! We shot some fabulous weddings, traveled to Hawaii, celebrated our one year wedding anniversary, did a lot of work on our house, and met a bunch of really cool people. I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for us!
Let's start 2010 off with a little contest. Two lucky winners are going to receive this "smile" print from my favorite letterpress artist, Hijiri. She is fabulous beyond words. Our house is filled with her work -- we just can't get enough! I have yet to blog my favorite custom piece she made for me, but I will be sure to tell you all about it once my new studio is finished.
The "smile" print is 5x7 inches, letterpressed by hand using vintage wood type blocks on 100lb, 100% cotton Lettra Pearl White paper with soy-based hand mixed light grey ink, which means it is environmentally friendly. The print is hand numbered on the back and the set is limited to 45 prints.
To win one of these prints, all you have to do is leave a comment in the comment section of this blog post telling me what makes you smile. I will select a winner on Wednesday, January 6.
DISCLAIMER: The framed print is mine. The two winners will receive one of the unframed prints pictured in the second photo. If you like the frame and want to purchase one of your own, you can grab one here.
Happy 2010 and I can't wait to hear what makes you smile!

ReplyDeleteI disqualify myself from this since I won a letterpress from that artist last time you had a contest, but I just wanted to say that they are FABULOUS and awesome quality. Definitely worth buying one on your own if you don't win one :)
ReplyDeleteI smile when my husband and I are in the car together and he reaches for my hand and plays with my fingers. It makes me feel like were dating again even after 12 years...
ReplyDeleteMy biggest smiles always come from my kiddo's. Right now I'm listening to my 7 year old call the characters on Star Wars his "homeboys" while my 18 month old sneaks her crackers to the dogs and but scolds them with, "no, no, no" as she hands them the crackers. :)

ReplyDeleteLife makes me smile. My colicky baby makes me smile. I cursed her and then I was told about a coworkers year old grandson who is struggling for his life. Then I found out about a school acquaintance who on her wedding night, rushed her groom to the ER. He was diagnosed with a rare case of leukemia. I won't let anything make me frown again!

ReplyDeleteSunshine makes me smile. Life makes me smile. Being with my loved ones makes me smile. After a near death experience last year, when I was hit by an intoxicated driver, I have learned to not take one day for granted.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me smile just this past weekend is when my son's babysitter told her right before he laid down for his nap last week that he wanted to go home. She asked him why he wanted to go home. He said, "So I can see my mom." OMG! It still makes me tear up to know that after all the yelling and fighting that I do with my 2 almost 3 year old, that he can still make me smile and bring tears to my eyes with his small innocent comments like this!
