Nicki + Justin
Words cannot express how much I adore Nicki and Justin. They are both such genuine people who live for each other.
Ken and I were so happy to hear that they were getting married at The Mavris in downtown Indianapolis. We LOVE that venue!!! In fact, we love it so much that when I was selecting photos for the blog, I first ended up with over 100 (which is crazy), then narrowed it down to about 75. I knew I couldn't post 75 photos in one blog because it would never load correctly, so I forced myself to narrow it down even further. I seriously agonized over this for 2 days! I think I ended up with 41.
Here are a couple of my favorite getting ready shots. Nicki's friend and bridesmaid, Meghan Cutsumbis, provided the makeup. Meghan is a makeup artist based in Dallas, Texas. She did an awesome job!!!
Me and my shoe shots. I loved the dramatic window light here.
The dress. (See how cool this venue is?)
Meanwhile, Ken was with the guys on the 3rd floor and caught this one of Nicki's dad preparing for his speech.
The guys wore Puma Speed Cats with their tuxes. Rock on!
I'm not going to lie -- I'm incredibly proud of this photo.
This was just moments after their first look.
Justin, you are one handsome groom!
And hello, GORGEOUS bride! These next few are some of my favorites from the day.
When Nicki contacted me about wedding photography, she said she wanted an industrial, photojournalist, fashion feeling to her photos. I hope I didn't disappoint.
She nailed that pose, don't you think?
I love this!
You guys know I love the next two. By the way, Tolly Foster and Nicki's family provided all the flowers.
This is one of my favorite group shots I have ever taken!
All the guys are looking good.
And so are the girls!
I adore this photo not just because it's a great shot of the guys, but because all the girls are headed up the stairs.
The caterers served fresh lemonade for the guests to enjoy during the ceremony. How cool is that? (P.S. I had some and it was really good.)
This is pure happiness.
Taken during the golden hour, just minutes after the ceremony concluded. This is my favorite light!
Classic Cakes in Carmel created this delicious beauty. Hands down, they are the BEST in Indiana.
Here is Nicki's dad giving his speech. It was so touching. I don't know if I have ever seen such a proud papa.
Hoaglin Fine Catering provided the delicious cuisine. The theme was "miniature childhood favorites" and the food included things like mini cheeseburgers, tiny caeser salads, fried macaroni and cheese bites, soup in shooter glasses, and more. It was all so delicious!
Nicki's and Justin's first dance (and reason #207 why we love The Mavris).
The sweet father daughter dance. I love everything about this photo.
I'm going to end with this fun shot of the crew dancing. Go Meghan!
Nicki and Justin, we had a blast at your wedding!!! We absolutely loved every detail. Ken and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Natalie + Mike
Natalie and Mike were married at Jones Crossing on an absolutely gorgeous day. We had never been to Jones Crossing before, and I have to say that we really liked it! It's an all in one banquet center with plenty of space for getting reading, the ceremony, and the reception.
When Ken and I arrived, we immediately found the girls surrounded by hairspray and makeup galore. This part of the wedding day is one of my favorites to shoot! The talented Sarah Jackson provided the makeup.
There's the happy bride!
Natalie's gorgeous gown.
Seriously, what's not to love about classic black and white getting ready photos? Natalie, you are beautiful!
Natalie's mom did the honors here.
Her shoes were fit for a princess and complimented her gown perfectly.
I was in love with her bouquet, so you'll be seeing lots of photos of it. All flowers were provided by J.P. Parker.
Their rings and the invitation...
Isn't their invitation suite fabulous? Love the Tiffany blue.
Their first look:
They exchanged gifts right after their first look. Mike surprised Natalie with a gorgeous bracelet.
I love the colors here.
This is pure happiness and one of my favorites of the day.
Another favorite.
So sweet!!!
Handsome groom!
I told you I had a thing for her bouquet.
Stunning.
I was all up in their business for a few minutes during the ceremony. (Natalie and Mike, I hope you didn't mind.)
I loved their reception centerpieces, too.
Yummy cake.
First dance, courtesy of Ken.
And my view of their first dance.
I love this shot of the father daughter dance. Love it!!!
Ken told me not to post this crazy photo but I'm not listening to him. This little piece of art was an accident. The DJ had some crazy lights, it was dark, and I didn't exactly nail the focus here -- lol. I love it anyway. It's colorful and shows the mood. And it reminds me a little of this. Call me crazy, but I personally think it would make an awesome metallic canvas.
Because the DJ had an awesome light show going on, I was able to capture some killer flare. (Yes, all of that was done in camera.)
Y-M-C-A! That's a good looking M, Natalie!
