Wyatt's Room

I thought I would share a few photos of Wyatt's room. It was so much fun creating this special space for him and I hope he grows to love it as much as we do. At just 8'x9', it is the tiniest room in the house, but he is also the smallest person in the house -- ha!

I worked with the fabulous Molly of mollyannemake to create a personalized garland to hang above Wyatt's crib. I sent her some of my leftover 100% organic Monaluna "Robots and Rocketships" fabric to use for his name.

The rocking chair is from IKEA. Ken's mom knitted the white blanket for Wyatt and I sewed the pillow cover using Michael Miller's "Two by Two" fabric in grey and white stripes.

The textured curtains are from IKEA. The paint is a medium shade of grey called "Aluminum" by Kilz.

The light fixture, crib, drawer, and clock are from IKEA. The light fixture was actually a plug-in lamp that we converted and hardwired into the ceiling.

The crib bumper was custom made using Michael Miller's "Two by Two" fabric in grey and white stripes. The crib skirt is from Carousel Designs. You would not believe how how it was to find a plain white tailored crib skirt! I thought I was going to have to make it myself!

The dresser, shelves, galvanized metal bin, jars, and frames are from IKEA. The galvanized metal bin holds all of Wyatt's toiletries -- baby powder, lotion, butt paste, etc. His Sophie giraffe is in there too!

I couldn't find a changing pad cover I liked in any local stores or online, so I ordered some charcoal grey minky dot fabric to make a custom changing pad cover.

We commissioned Hijiri from Heartfish Press to make a custom letterpress print for Wyatt's room. "I'll eat you up I love you so" is a line from one of my favorite childhood books "Where the Wild Things Are" and we were excited to incorporate it into Wyatt's room. The robot print was a custom print by Karyn at Den10Studio. The yellow "Love is Spoken Here" digital print is available at the Etsy shop Tuesday Mourning.

We purchased the metal "W" from Anthropologie. Savannah from Sleepy King handmade the red fox. The "Smile" letterpress print is available in different colors at Heartfish Press (the grey is sold out). The cameras were vintage finds.

During the last few days of my pregnancy, I sewed the burp cloths from designer fabrics backed with absorbent chenille.

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of Wyatt's room!
