I am so honored to live in Indianapolis and take part in the festivities of Super Bowl XLVI! It's been such a fun week -- the city has done an awesome job with Super Bowl Village.

Here is Wyatt waving hello from the NFL Experience on Wednesday night (which was a total blast, by the way).

Ken said he was a Browns fan before the Mayflowers rolled into town.

We went to the Wilson football factory to see how footballs are made. This was so cool.

Oh I just love this little family of 3 (soon to be 4)! I photographed Shannon and John's wedding a few years ago and am so happy that we have stayed in touch. Justin is 2 months older than Wyatt so it's always fun comparing what the boys are up to.

I adore this shot of the 3 of them. It even made their Christmas card this year!

Justin is so sweet and so curious, just like little boys are supposed to be.

Love this! (And I also love that you can get a glimpse of Shannon's baby bump in this photo.) Justin, I bet you are going to have so much fun with your new little brother!

I am so excited to share Heather and Adam's fall wedding with you. It was such a beautiful day and I loved all their details!

I am a sucker for paper products and thought what they did with their invitation was so creative.

Heather and the girls got ready at The Omni in downtown Indianapolis. Love that hotel!!!

Heather is extremely talented and made jewelry for herself and the entire wedding party.

Those lashes are all hers. (I am so jealous!)

We headed over to the Indiana Statehouse for a few photos before the ceremony.

Just a warning -- you are going to see lots of photos featuring Heather's vintage brooch bouquet (which she made herself, by the way). I was pretty much obsessed with it!

The clock struck 2:37 PM and it was show time! Yep, that's the time they intended for their ceremony to start.

I have been so excited to share Libby and Jake's wedding photos with you. Libby and Jake are dear friends of ours and we were honored that they chose us to photograph their special day.

Both the ceremony and reception were held at Washington Township Park in Avon.

It was such a pretty day for an outdoor ceremony! There was no bridal party -- Libby and Jake kept things simple just like Ken and I did.

After the ceremony, we went to a little bridge to get some photographs. Libby, you are a beautiful bride and your dress is just perfect.

I think I have known Jen and Alex since 7th grade when I was new kid in town. We became friends and, to this day, I will never forget some of our lunch table jokes. (Look, there's John Lennon!) Jen and Alex didn't date in high school -- they were just friends. All of us were just a big group of friends. Later in life, that friendship turned into something more, and about 14 years after graduating from high school, lifelong friends Jen and Alex tied the knot. I was honored they chose Ken and me to photograph their special day.

I was in love with Jen's bold blue flats. (Jen's mom hated those shoes!)

Jen, you made a beautiful bride. Samantha and Brittany from Flaunt provided the hair and Melanie from M for Makeup provided the makeup. Everyone looked fabulous!

While I was with the girls, Ken spent some time with the guys doing typical guy things. Girls primp, guys play. That's just how it is.

I adore this shot of Alex with his mom. (I'm sure she will love it, too.)

Jen loves to make things. If fact, she is a famous knitter! (More about that later.) She crafted their wedding invitations.

The ceremony was held at Cuneo Mansion & Gardens in Vernon Hills, Illinois. It was a beautiful fall day.

Pastor Rich Rubietta officiated the wedding and did a wonderful job.

After the ceremony, we took a few photos around the mansion and gardens.

We then got onto an awesome party bus that took us back to our hometown of Grayslake, Illinois for a few more photos. I think this was everyone's favorite part of the day! We even went to our old high school.

Of course we stopped at Tastee-Freez.

Next, we headed to the reception at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, Illinois. Jane Allen from Jane Allen Events kept everyone on schedule that day. When I posted this shot on Facebook, Jen commented that she looked forward to looking back on this photo when she and her friend are old ladies knitting in the nursing home. That made me smile big smiles, especially coming from a famous knitter!

I read something the other day about how a knitter's hands feel unsettled unless they are knitting. Jen, your hands look lovely knitting away on your wedding day! This is one of my favorite photos I have ever taken.

I thought their reception details were fantastic. Jen, of course, crafted them. I think Alex helped her (and didn't even complain about it!!!) but I don't know if I was supposed to share that.

Lovin Oven Cakery in Round Lake, Illinois provided the cake and it was delicious!

Their grand entrance really was grand!

Adam gave the perfect best man speech.

When Alex toasted his bride, my eyes welled up with tears and I got goosebumps.

I'm going to end with a super sweet mother son dance. I wish I could post even more photos, but I have already posted about twice what I normally do!

Jen and Alex, we cannot thank you enough for allowing us to capture your amazing day. You two are so perfect for each other -- friends first, then spouses, and best friends forever. Love you guys.

My sweet little piece of pumpkin pie is one year old today! I remember this day like it was yesterday and can hardly believe a year has flown by. Happy birthday, Wyatt! Mommy and Daddy love you very much.

I want to preface this blog post with a little warning -- I had a really tough time narrowing down the photos to post and still ended up with 57 that I wanted to share here, which is around 20 more than I normally select. Please be patient as the blog loads. Thank you!

Now that my little warning is out of the way, I am so excited to share Alana and Nick's wedding images with you! These two were such a joy to work with and didn't let anything get them down -- not even the downpour on their outdoor ceremony!

I guess I should give you all another warning. This blog post is a little heavy on the flowers and details because I loved them all! Laura's Flower Shoppe in Lake Villa, Illinois did a fabulous job with the flowers.

Hi, girls!

I told you their flowers were amazing!

Check out those lashes. Hot mama! Alana purchased her hair piece from Gilded Shadows on Etsy.

Did I mention that I have an obsession with yellow and grey? I loved their invitations by InvitingMoments on Etsy.

Grey suits are my favorite.

All the guys in their fun ties.

Details, details. This lovely set up greeted guests as they entered the ceremony area.

The vintage finds belong to Alana's mom and aunt. I tried to steal that yellow and grey quilt but Alana's aunt caught me. (Ok, I didn't really try to steal it...but I did offer to take it off their hands!)

This was a surprise to me! I about died when I saw this!!! Alana purchased all the banners from Expressions In Design on Etsy. (I think Alana is an Etsy addict like I am.)

There was amazing light during the ceremony...and then it started pouring rain! Antioch Golf Club in Antioch, Illinois was a beautiful venue.

Their officiant, Julie Adriansen, did a wonderful job with the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we headed out on the golf carts for some fun photos. I always love the way it looks outside after it rains.

We found an old wooden bridge and did most of the photos there. The light was perfect!

They chose this photo for their thank you cards. We really enjoy seeing our photos on thank you cards!

This group was so much fun, especially when we were chasing each other and getting lost throughout the golf course!

Nick told me that he helped distress the doors for this project. It's the perfect sweet buffet.

So many amazing details, and I'm not even including all of them.

I was ecstatic when Shannon told me she wanted to do a mini session with her husband and puppies! Shannon is the owner/creator of Soak, the most amazing bath/body products I have ever used. The sweet orange sugar scrub is my favorite! (If it's not listed in her shop, just send her a note and she will make it for you.) She also makes the most amazing loose lavender bath salts. So relaxing. But, back to their session.

The light was lovely that evening, and their puppies Cooper and Charlie were so excited to have their pictures taken.

These next two are my favorites from the day. I love how they are interacting with their sweet boys.

They aren't brothers, but they sure do look alike! This would look so great in their home...blown up big!

Chase - Class of 2012

A few weeks ago, I met up with Chase (and his cousin Eric -- you'll see those images soon) for his senior session in downtown Indianapolis. We walked around and found some great little nooks to shoot. I told Chase he should move to New York and model -- he rocked the session! Here are just a few of my favorites from the evening.

Oh how I love seeing families grow! I know I say that all the time, but it really is one of the best parts of my job. I was lucky to see this sweet family of four again a couple weeks ago for their fall photos. My long time blog readers may recognize Gabbie and Brett -- I photographed their wedding several years ago!

It happened to be sweet baby girl Alexandra's second birthday on the day of family photos, so we made sure to get a few of just her. Happy girl on her tricycle!

Love this face. Notice her little thigh hanging out? Her mom cut off Alex's tights because of her cast. Poor baby broke her leg a couple days before the photo session. As you can see, a broken leg isn't keeping her down!

Love this...it's one of my favorites from the day.

I have been so excited to share Katie and Kyle's wedding images with you. It was one of my favorite weddings we have ever photographed! Not only were their wedding details amazing, but Katie and Kyle are two of the most genuine people we have ever met.

Katie and the girls got ready at 14 West in downtown Indianapolis, where the wedding reception was held. Katie, you are gorgeous.

Kyle designed the paper goods for the wedding and did an amazing job. What talent!

We only had 10 minutes after the ceremony to take care of all the photographs. Nope, I am not exaggerating. We had to get shots of just Katie, just Kyle, Katie with the girls, Kyle with the guys, the whole group together, and of course the fun shots of just Katie and Kyle! We rocked that 10 minutes, if I do say so myself. I found a little nook with good light and we went to town with the photos.

Once we arrived to 14 West downtown, I was able to grab a few more shots before we headed up to the reception. I just love how these photos turned out!

Katie even sewed fabric onto burlap sacks stuffed with mulling spices.

Classic Cakes in Carmel did an amazing job with the cake!

Missy, owner of Palm Court Design in Broad Ripple, did an amazing job with the flowers for the wedding. Katie and Kyle collected vintage vessels and Missy created the most beautiful eclectic tablescapes with their vintage finds.

We bumped into Katie and Kyle in Target one day when they were purchasing stringed lights and lanterns for their wedding. Have I mentioned that lanterns are a favorite of mine? They add an element of visual interest to the scene that just radiates in photographs.

Oh what fun Erika and Chris were! Many of you know that I am a sucker for yellow and grey. I knew it would be a great day when we showed up and saw my favorite colors!

Ken and I were so excited to see Sarah and Joe tie the knot in August at The Hawthorns! Sarah is quite the planner so every wedding detail was carefully contemplated and executed, making their wedding the perfect day.

The last time I saw Kayson, he was still in his mommy's tummy. He made his grand entrance just a couple weeks after I photographed Kourtney and Chris. Every time I see a new baby, I am reminded how fast they grow. Kayson was a very alert 16 day old baby and did not sleep though his session like most new babies do. He just had so much to look at!

You may remember Kelly and Jeremy from their fun Broad Ripple engagement session. Their wedding was just as fun! Kelly and Jeremy were married at the Indiana History Center in downtown Indianapolis and everything about their day was just perfect.

Wyatt is 9 months old!

My sweet little baby is growing up way too fast! 9 months is such a fun age -- Wyatt is curious about absolutely everything and constantly laughs at nothing. It's precious! He is 30 inches long and weighs 19 pounds. He still has big blue eyes and light blonde hair like his mama. Wyatt has 4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) and loves eating everything we give him. For the past several months, he had been sleeping 8-9 hours per night before waking up to eat, but in recent weeks, he's sleeping a straight 11-12 hours! He has such a great personality and loves everyone he meets.

I captured these photos in less than 5 minutes, which made me think that I should bring back the fall mini sessions I used to do. Whatcha think? Would you be interested in a fall mini session for a fraction of the cost of a regular session? I could pick one day and a location and book a bunch of 20 minute sessions. Let me know if you'd be interested. I'm thinking some time in October. This would be a great opportunity for a photo for the family holiday card!

Ken and I really enjoyed spending the day with Catherine and Bill and their families. Even though it was blistering hot outside, they were troopers and trucked right along for their outdoor photos. Absolutely everything about their wedding day was perfect! Many thanks to the ladies of A Touch of Elegance for making this day a success. I just can't say enough good things about Debbie and Cassie.

I had the honor of photographing my dear friends, Libby and Jake, for their engagement session. They met around the same time that Ken and I did and they are finally getting married this fall. Jake always said how nervous photographing Ken and me makes him feel...and now I finally know what he means. Talk about pressure!

Libby and Jake's first date was at an Indianapolis Indians game and they wanted to get a few shots at Victory Field for that reason. I love how these turned out.

It's hard to get a natural smile out of Jake sometimes (probably because he is used to being on the other side of the camera!) and that natural smile is why I love this photo so much.

After the game, we headed over to the crosswalk where Libby and Jake saw each other for the first time. I'm sure we got a lot of funny looks but I think it was worth it.
